Promise Yourself. A Blog Mindset

Posted by Mark Ayers on Dec 30, 2008 in Blog, Blog marketing, Blogging, Optimist International, The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself —

  • To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
  • To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
  • To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
  • To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
  • To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
  • To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
  • To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
  • To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
  • To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
  • To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble

The Optimist Creed from Optimist International. Who adapted these words from the late Christian D. Larson

Blogging: How To Learn What to Write About?

Posted by Mark Ayers on Dec 28, 2008 in Angie Perderson, Blog

One of the first questions that comes to mind for the potential blogger, what should I Blog about?

When my friend Tony first suggesting I blog I know I had this question in my mind. I had played with a blogger account and maybe put up one or two posts but that was a couple years ago  I had a vague sense of what I wanted to say but no direction.

At the time we had our conversation I wanted to create a website and he was adamant that I would do better blogging. I am glad I listened because I get what he was talking about.

So now you are thinking to yourself “what do I write about” and to help you along I found a great post from Angie Pedersen at Scrapbookmarketing.com

Angie does an excellent job of outlining the distinctions of personal verses business blogging. She offers up 9 reasons for a personal blog and 14 reasons for a business blog along with two marketing tips- determine your audience and determine your marketing goals.

Angie finishes up with 3 “W”’s Why are you blogging, Who are you blogging for and What you want to communicate.
